I have only been using this product for 4 days. My only criticism I have is it is difficult for a senior citizen to understand the program instruction. For one thing the print on the instruction sheet is Extremely small. I am 76 years old (with new glasses) and found the instruction very difficult to read. I think that I managed to program the unit for 7 days. While my lamp turned on as programmed the first evening, it did not turn off at the appointed time. I reprogrammed the next morning and so far 3 evenings in a row the device has worked just fine.

Nice timer but not what I actually wanter

I purchased this timer to replace another brand that died. The timer is used with a corner floor standing lamp that is timed to come on around dusk and go off at the same time each night. What I HAD was a timer that allowed selection of a one of several "programs" that I chose as the seasons progressed ond the amount of daylight waxed and waned. What I GOT is a timer where all 10 programs run concurrently. This allows creation of very complex routines that vary on -off times by day or combination of days in the week. I’m keeping the timer since I will only be changing the program 4 times a year. I will have to keep the programming instructions handy... Three stars because the sales lit could have been clear that you can’t choose a single program to run while others are stored.

These timers are exceptionally easy to program. Furthermore, unlike the mechanical timers, these timers are quiet. Thus far, the “time” function seems to maintain the +/- change that is cited in the instructions. For programming, I simply took an extension cord, programmed the timer with the timer plugged into the extension cord, and then plugged the timer into the wall with the appropriate appliances attached (due to the backup battery, all programming was retained during the transfer from the extension cord to the wall outlet). Plus, the red LED clearly shows when the time is active, either in AUTO or ON mode.

These are robust little timers at a great price. They also are a very good price. I also like how they look, they are not that noticeable and look cool. You will need to have the instructions each time you set them because there are button combinations that aren’t intuitive or memorable. This is s big negative, BUT, the product is so good, I’m only taking one star away. Good timers

Product as described and delivered on time. I will use them for Xmas lights and possibly evening lights when the old timers die. Mostly good news on the product itself: timer function works well, battery backup for power outages, can program off-line then plug-in, has two 3-prong outlets, 15 amp capability, only covers half of a duplex outlet leaving the second outlet accessible. As other reviewers have mentioned, programming is not entirely intuitive so you will want to keep a set of the instructions handy for reference (and maybe a magnifying glass because the print is very tiny). Overall, I would buy again (assuming these hold up for at least a few years).

Programming these timers might not be intuitive, but if you follow the instructions it’s easy. You may need a magnifying glass to read the ones on the paper that come with it, but the instructions are also available online and easy to read there. One thing I really liked was that due to the small rectangular shape you can use the upper outlet if you plug it into the bottom outlet. The timer has an outlet on each side. The version I bought turns them both on and off together, but they make a version where each one can be programmed independently. Well designed, and unlike a mechanical timer, if you have a power outage the clock and programming will remain through the outage.

Usually I can program these things without looking at instructions but the button labels aren’t very clear as to what they do so I had to break down and look at the instructions. It’s not difficult to program at all once you know what the button functions are. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks with two different time settings and it’s been working flawlessly. It seems well made and pretty durable

These are great in almost all respects: rubberized, positive-feedback buttons, dual outlets, fits in the bottom socket of a 2-socket receptacle without obstructing the top socket, has a battery so it doesn’t lose time when you move it to a different socket, it’s sturdy, low-profile, easy to program and priced right. Only drawback is that DST switchovers are not automatic as it does not store date. Time only. I see a couple valid reasons why you might remove date from the equation and it’s not that huge of a deal but :( - DST sure would complete the package! Wish I could give 4.5 stars. :)

Highly Versatile Timers - 10 program possible.

Purchased 6 of these now and everyone works perfectly and is easy to program ONCE you know how to. Instructions are fine. Have had 2 in service for couple months and no issues but I use mine to cycle power on cams once a week for a minute. The rest of the time they are on. Would prefer a Daylight Savings button instead of a simultaneous keypress combination to toggle it. If not done in perfect sequence the ON/AUTO/OFF/AUTO will be changed since one of the keys is the manual button. No biggy just discovered it recently during our fall time change. Great status indication and functionality. Restores to previous state when power returns which is great for my use. Time will tell.

Well designed timer/great value

I’m using this timer for my indoor plant grow light and it is great. It has a built in backup battery so you don’t have to reset the clock and settings every time you unplug it or the power goes out. The outlets on the sides keep its total depth at a mere 1.5 inches. The LCD display is very easy to read and a little red light turns on when the outlets are being powered. It took me about ten minutes to program it for days of the week/hours on I want. I’ve used mechanical timers in the past and this timer puts them to shame. Yup, I’m very happy with this timer.
