  1. Selecting between Prgram times on timer.
    Rating

Who do you choose between the two program times/ if I set PGM 1: 4am on/ 9pm off and set PGM 2: 6am to 6pm,…… how do I switch in between the 2 setting when I need it. I may need PGM1 for for two months. How do you switch between the setting and not have random times,… so that can choose for setting Program 1 to switch to let say setting Program 6. How do I do this? I’m confused because it’s not in the instructions.

  2. Setting of 2 program "sessions" per day, after having 1 program already done...
    Rating
    80%
We set this timer to turn our Christmas tree on, from 4 pm until 1 am. That didn’t work, so you have to have them turn OFF at 11:59 pm and turn back on for an hour THE NEXT DAY, from m12 midnight to 1 am. This unit will ONLY work the various programs per day, in chronological order. i.e. You cannot program an afternoon session as Program #1, and then create a program #2 to have a morning session in the same day. It will ignore the Program #2, if that 2nd program occurs before the first one. To solve this,... You must adjust Program #1 to the first session of the day On/Off settings, and then create Program #2 for the next "session." No need to CLEAR the memory. So, our original Program #1 was for the afternoon, 4 pm to 1159 pm. To get the tree to come on in the mornings, we just changed the 4 pm to 6 am, and then changed the 11:59 pm to 9 am. Then, I created Program #2 for 4 pm to 11:59 pm. It took ALL AFTERNOON to learn the idiosyncrasies of the timer. Hope this helps.

  3. Timer for my Christmas Lights

Its pretty easy to set up and I love that it has a 3 prong outlet on each side. It also has a battery in it so even if it comes unplugged you do not lose all your settings and times and that is WONDERFUL.

  4. works great but did reset.

This worked great for 8 months then reset it self out of the blue one day, so I had to get the instructions to read up on how to reprogram it and reset the time. I saw complaints from others with same issue. I got this as it has 2 outputs and plugs in on the top not on the bottom of the timer and that makes a difference depending on where it is plugged in.

  5. Once you learn how to set it all up they’re great timers, last you might need.
    Rating

It’s a digital timer with a bunch of day and time options, 10 programmable light cycles so you can have very random times for your lamps, so if you’re away from home frequently, it might make it look more lived in to prying eyes. Having timers go on and off at the same times can be a risk with any crook who watches a mark for more than a day. I have one timer for a constant light, and another timer setup for 6 different times to be on and off during the day. Works great for my needs, and frankly aside from being a bit hard to understand at the start, you really don’t need more in a timer like this.

Works well after getting by the timing. Not quite as simple as others I’ve used. The two outlets (with ground) could be handy.

  7. 5 *s for 2 out of 3 units I own, the other is a 3

I have three of these I have bought over the years. The two older ones work perfect. The latest one I bought seems to lose all it’s settings once a month. This is not an issue with the power going out or anything. Like I said the older two units are still working great.

  8. Very Random
    Rating

It works OK and not too bad to program, but I am an engineer. What I am not keen on is the randomness. I expected Random to mean that the start and stop time varied from the programmed time by a random amount. If it is to start at 6 pm, it might start anywhere from 5 to 7. Instead, it just seems random, sometime coming on at 3 in the morning.

  9. Old Woman VS. Timer Directions
    Rating

I believe step # 7 on "Program Timer" should read Press UP and Down simultaneously to exit program rather than Press UP or Down. You can’s do up or down together!! I found that using the 12 hour clock was less confusing. The first few tries were not getting the correct times. Also, I was confused about how to choose all 7 days - #2. did that by pressing UP (or Down) and watching the top to see what days were displayed and then pressing SET. I plugged it in to an extension cord to program. I wondered if this was necessary once it was charged. One thing I do not like is when I wish to change one setting (or made a mistake) is that I have to start all over with a reset. Am I missing something? Other than above, the timer is now working as I wished. Hope I do not have to change the settings again!

  10. This sucker’s electrical!

Some say it’s hard to program but I had no issues. I live in a cold climate so I got the 2 pack and use one to turn my electric fireplace on/off in the evenings & mornings. And the other I use with a little space heater to warm up the cab of my Jeep about a half hour before time to go to work. Also, I just got done moving and it DOES keep the settings when unplugged for a couple days. Good buy. Thinking about getting another for the aquarium lights. Only downside is both things plugged in run at the same time settings. You can’t set them for different times.
