Bought this to add Bluetooth and APTX to a stereo receiver that doesn’t have it built-in. You need an APTX enabled phone to take advantage of that protocol, but most higher-end Samsung, HTC and Sony(?) phones support it. Honestly, these days Bluetooth is good enough that you might not need APTX, however I have found that once you pair a smartwatch to your phone, streaming audio quality degrades considerably (bandwidth issues?) unless you’ve got APTX devices up and down the chain. In any case, I’m satisfied with this receiver. It does what I bought it for and does it well.

FosPower keeps bugging me for review, so here it is: Yes, I bought it few months ago to bring back to life my old audio system, so I could play music wirelessly from my phone on big speakers. I have 3 different bluetooth receivers and this one overall it is OK+ I needed RCA stereo inputs and stereo jack just in case. Power is taken directly from Audio receiver’s AC output through 5V USB adapter. All included in a box. Everything works great once paired. Good sound quality from a distance up to 12ft or across whole big room without obstacles. Plays everything including phone calls. So if you run your party using your phone, you know what it means. You’d better use iPad or laptop for this purpose. Volume can be controlled by a phone or there are 2 buttons on receiver. All devices such as Android, iPhone, iPad recognized FosPower receiver and after some pain eventually paired successfully. Can’t speak for NFC feature, since I didn’t know how to use it. Not sure if my phones support that. Now as someone mentioned before, it needs to be powered on all the time to be able to reconnect. Otherwise it doesn’t turn on automatically after power outage or you have a habit to turn off your Amp. You need to physically reach it and hold a small button for a while to turn it on. For some it may be good, but for others like me it may be inconvenient. So I keep it on all the time. But it would be nice if FosPower has rocker switch for power like "on", "off", "auto on" or something like that instead of "press and hold" button. I have different bluetooth receiver in my car which is constantly turned on and off and it pairs everytime no problem hands free. Buttons location: cosmetically looks great, but from the practical point of view after playing with it for a while it would be better if placed on top, So the that tiny little thing stays in place. Once sound source (in this case a phone) leaves the room, or is behind 2 walls the signal starts breaking off. I guess it is expected for bluetooth. When connection is lost completely, the FosPower receiver keeps on trying to reconnect. Unfortunately in that case it periodically makes an annoying beep sound. It becomes an issue for other house members once you leave the house with your connected phone. Make sure you disconnect your device before you leave. Also I misplaced paper copy of User Manual and I couldn’t find it on FosPower website either. So I had to reach to youtubers to re-learn how to enter pairing mode. Be aware that Fakespot. com rates reviews quality for this product as very poor. Meaning a lot of sponsored reviews.

  10. Sounds Good, Excellent Bluetooth Connectivity

Better sound from an iPhone using the RCA out on this receiver than when using the headphone jack directly into the amp’s auxiliary RCA inputs. Audio confirmation of power status and connection very nice. Only con is the awkward, hard to see on/off button.
