Purchased for my local emergency aid service center. Folks need protection from the winter weather. These are a perfect solution for folks with no place to go but continue through our town on their way north during our sometime heavy weather. Do something kind for your fellow folks and purchase a pack. Recommended

Great for unexpected squalls---Prop 65 Warning of "Cancer and Reproductive Harm"

These take up almost no room in your pack and add only 3oz, and provide a good safety feature for hiking. No one wants to drag a whole raincoat up a mountain, especially on a "just in case" situation, but if it does rain you can be in trouble due to hypothermia and other problems. This rain poncho is actually designed on the same principle as emergency blankets, with a metallic coating on the inside to help retain body heat. It will also fit over most backpacks, helping to keep your gear dry. It is not super durable, but if you’re really careful you might be able to reuse it. I should point out that this also has a "Cancer and Reproductive Harm" California Prop 65 warning on it, so, again, this is an item to be used in emergencies only. The only other thing I can really fault it for is that I don’t think it’s recyclable, but it doesn’t claim to be. Still, I’ll take off a star because of the Prop 65 warning--I don’t really want cancer and would prefer a product that is non-toxic.

Better than your average poncho

The difference is obvious. These are made of a much heavier material than the cheap ponchos one normally buys for emergencies. They are also lined to keep your body warm. They are truly one-size fits all. They are something that we’ll definitely take camping until we need them. Hopefully we don’t, but chances are we will. It always seems to rain when it’s least convenient, so at least be prepared for it.
